No, I'm not leaving. Not permanently, anyway. I'm going on a trip.

A 7-week long trip.

I'm going to be heading to a Lake of the Woods camp to pack out, prep the canoes, and generally get set. I return to Winnipeg for 1 night (1 night of internet, thank god), and get bussed out next morning. For the next 6 weeks, I am going to be in one of 4 canoes with 8 other guys, paddling down said river. It's going to be bloody awesome.

So, I went camping this weekend.

Apparently nature hates me.

Sunny skies, beautiful weather, all that you could wish for. Sounds nice, doesn't it? Well, that was the forecast. What I got was somewhat different.

3 days of solid rain. My fuel ended up freezing. I ate beef jerky and chocolate for most of my meals. I was wearing 4 bloody layers of polypropylene and fleece. My tent soaked through.

And then, on the last day, it was absolutely beautiful.

It's here! 9 fucking years and it's here! Life has taken on new meaning! This will lead to the dawn of a new era, for the second coming is nigh!

Ok, I realize I've been absent as of late. I have a good, excuse, I swear.

I downloaded tES4: Oblivion a few weeks ago.

Holy mother of god is that game fun.

Usually, I feel paralysed by sandbox-style games like this. Oblivion counteracts this nicely. Right now I have a Breton Spellblade rising in the ranks of the Fighters guild and the Mages guild. I don't intend to do everything the first time around, because I know I'm going to have to play this one a few times through.
